A relativistic model of independent quarks based on Dirac equation with an equally mixed scalar-vector square root confining
potential is used to compute the quark core contributions to the static properties like magnetic moments, charge radii and
axial vector coupling constant ratios of the baryon octet. The results obtained with appropriate corrections due to centre-of-mass
motion agree fairly well with experimental values. The model is also extended to the study of magnetic moments of the quark

The SELEX Collaboration has reported a very large isospin splitting of doubly charmed baryons. We show that this effect would imply that the doubly charmed baryons are very compact. One intriguing possibility is that such baryons have a linear geometry Q–q–Q where the light quark q oscillates between the two heavy quarks Q , analogous to a linear molecule such as carbon dioxide. However, using conventional arguments, the size of a heavy-light hadron is expected to be around 0.5 fm, much larger than the size needed to explain the observed large isospin splitting. Assuming the distance between two heavy quarks is much smaller than that between the light quark and a heavy one, the doubly heavy baryons are related to the heavy mesons via heavy quark–diquark symmetry. Based on this symmetry, we predict the isospin splittings for doubly heavy baryons including Ξcc, Ξbb and Ξbc. The prediction for the Ξcc is much smaller than the SELEX value. On the other hand, the Ξbb baryons are predicted to have an isospin splitting as large as (6.3±1.7) MeV. An experimental study of doubly bottomed baryons is therefore very important to better understand the structure of baryons with heavy quarks. 相似文献

In this work, we analyse semi-leptonic and non-leptonic weak decays of the heavy baryons: Λ_b,Ξ_b,?_b and Λ_c,Ξ_c,?_c. For non-leptonic decay modes, we study only the factorizable channels induced by the external Wemission. The two spectator quarks in the baryonic transitions are treated as a diquark and form factors are calculated in the light-front approach. Using the results for form factors, we also calculate some corresponding semi-leptonic and non-leptonic decay widths. We find that our results are comparable with the available experimental data and other theoretical predictions. Decay branching fractions for many channels are found to reach the level 10~(-3)~10~(-2),which is promising for discovery in future measurements at BESIII, LHCb and Belle II. The SU(3) symmetry in semi-leptonic decays is examined and sources of symmetry breaking are discussed. 相似文献

Using the one-boson-exchange model, we studied the possible existence of very loosely bound hidden-charm molecular baryons composed of an anti-charmed meson and a charmed baryon. Based on the flux tube model, the effects of the confining potentials of different configurations, namely the △-type and the Y-type, on the spectra of baryons are studied on SUSF(6) basis. The baryon spectra are obtained in a unified manner. Our result shows that by employing either the △-mode or the Y-mode confining potential, one can achieve reasonable baryon spectra. The △-mode may be mostly effective for the short- and medium-distances, while the Y-mode may offer more contributions to the spectra for long-distances. Although the binding energies in baryon spectra may deviate by a few to several tens MeV for different modes, it is hard to determine either one to be dominant by simply evaluating the baryon spectra. One may need to invoke the baryon decay process to make further judgement. 相似文献

Magnetic moments of decuplet baryons have been calculated in a relativistic independent quark model with a phenomenological
potential in equally mixed scalar-vector harmonic form. Such a model has been successful in describing wide ranging hadronic
phenomena in mesonic and baryonic sectors. Using the solutions of the constituent quark orbitals with the model parameters
taken from its earlier applications, the magnetic moments of decuplet baryons Δ++ and Ω− have been obtained which are in good agreement with the available experimental data. However, the agreement is found to be
much better when the magnetic moment ratios such as μδ++/μ
p and μΩ-/μΛ are considered. Model predictions for the magnetic moments of other decuplet baryons together with the charge radii have
